For this year's Career Day, IBSH is honored to invite alumnus Dr. Albert Monshan Wu, an author,
activist, and historian, to speak to grades 7-12 about his journey from high school to history. Wu was
born in the United States and grew up in Hsinchu, Taiwan, where he graduated from high school and

Tom Lin, an accomplished director and screenwriter, traversed his teenage youth with feelings of
estrangement— raised in Minnesota but graduating in Taiwan, he never felt he could be identified
with a single label. He conveyed his hardships, insecurities, and lessons learned through a speech

In the ever-flourishing world of science and technology, Dr. Kang Kuen-Ni has long been
interested in contributing to the field with her own ideas and research since she was a high school
student at NEHS. After graduating high school, she went on to pursue an undergraduate degree at
UCSB, and then a master's at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
